Catastrophic flash floods have torn through Nepal, sweeping away entire villages and leaving families facing unimaginable loss. More than 35 bridges have been destroyed, and an estimated 10,000 families are now in immediate need.

With roads and bridges destroyed and some of the worst affected communities increasingly difficult to reach, families urgently need essential items such as food, clean water, shelter and more. 100% of your donations will reach families in need directly delivered by our team on the ground.

What Has Happened In Nepal? +

Catastrophic flash floods have struck Nepal, sending powerful surges of water, mud and debris through communities and causing widespread loss of life and destruction. As of 28 August 2026, 389 people have lost their lives and 910 people remain missing. Damage to roads, bridges and other infrastructure has also made access to some affected communities extremely difficult.

How Many People Need Help? +

Approximately 10,000 families are reported to be in immediate need following the disaster. The situation is still developing and assessments are continuing, meaning the scale and nature of humanitarian needs may change as more affected areas are reached.

What Will Watan Provide? +

Watan is currently coordinating its immediate humanitarian response and assessing the needs of affected communities. Families need urgent essential items and humanitarian assistance, but we have not yet committed this appeal to specific distributions. This allows our teams to determine what is needed most urgently and respond accordingly rather than restricting donations before assessments are complete.
